The TALL SNATCH trains and reinforces proper mechanics of the pull under the bar, speed, aggressiveness, confidence and precision in the turnover. It is a great technique primer and great for athletes who have a weak, slow pull under the bar. Weights will be extremely light—always beginning with a PVC or an empty bar. Be careful of increasing the weight too much and unintentionally losing sight of what the drill is supposed to be.
Pairing the TALL SNATCH with the HIGH HANG SNATCH we will further our technique work to develop better force production in the extension and more aggressiveness in the pull under due to the limited time and distance we have to accelerate and elevate the bar.
