“When I first started CrossFit, I had the idea that everyone was there because they love exercise, wanted to ‘get in shape’ or perhaps they just wanted to try something new. While, some of these may be true, overtime I realized that nearly everyone showing up was seeking something different. Something more, simply masked as fitness goals. They might not have realized it, but they were looking for new friends, an outlet to vent about their workday, a good habit to replace a bad one, an activity to replace a loss, or maybe something else that is missing from their life.
The solution they found waiting was a community. Yes, a community built around fitness, but also a community built around people, real people. A community intended to challenge and change you, but also designed to support and respect you. It’s an organization that provides so much more than fitness and that is why it’s so successful…They have crafted a community that welcomes everyone and provides a foundation for achieving personal goals, whatever they may be. A community that anyone would be proud to be a member of.”
“When I started CrossFit I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but now, a year later, joining was one of my highlights of 2017. You learn pretty quick that the more you go, the better, and more addictive, it gets. I had always been a runner, and still am, but CrossFit rounds me out mentally and physically and I feel like I am at my healthiest and strongest.
I am thankful for my progress, my goals, and the daily challenge that CrossFit brings. The coaches are incredibly welcoming, especially to newbies like myself, and it’s really them and the community that keep me going back each day.”
“Skeptical, a friend of mine convinced me to try a Free Trial class and from that day forward I was hooked. The results I have achieved speak for themselves – I am 30 pounds lighter, tighter all over, I feel so much better and consider myself strong! I keep saying that all I do is show up, you coaches do the rest. The encouragement I receive from the entire 802CrossFit community keeps me coming back. I always thought I was working out at other gyms.
Now I know what it really takes to achieve these results. I haven’t sweat like this since high school sports; yet you make it fun! Even though the workouts are pretty tough, because they are different every day, it never becomes a grind. And because you provide instructions on how to scale each component of the workout, even I (newbie at 55+) can enjoy a sense of accomplishment after every workout. I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done for me.”
“I joined 802 Crossfit a little over 3 years ago, and I knew as soon as I finished my first class, that it would be a game changer for me. I have been athletic my whole life, but have struggled to find a fitness routine that could keep me active and engaged for any amount of time, and then a friend recommended 802 Crossfit. The community and coaches are the best I have experienced and I can honestly say that being a member there has changed the way I look at fitness.
I have lost over 100lbs since joining 802 CrossFit and have achieved goals that I would have never thought to be attainable 3 years ago. It’s impossible to put into words the feeling of accomplishment and amount of confidence I have gained during my time as a member here and I know those feelings will only continue to grow! The support I receive from fellow members and coaches continues to push me to want to be better and the time I spend there is easily one of my favorite parts of the day.”
“When I first stumbled upon CrossFit, I was envious of other athletes. Shirtless, moving so much weight, climbing ropes, and c’mon, those abs though! I wanted to try it, but how could I next to people like that?! I was scared to walk through the door.
Fast forward, I finally found the courage to look into boxes near me. I found 802CrossFit, and what an amazing experience it has been. The community is truly one of a kind; I couldn’t ask for better training, coaches, friends, classmates, or support. It’s much more than fitness here, I couldn’t be happier I walked through the door.”
“It took about a year of a friend offering to take me to a trial class for me to say yes. I had heard a lot of different things about CrossFit and most of them made it sound terrifying not to mention the YouTube videos that made it look impossible for normal people.
The hardest part was walking through the door because once I was inside I became, almost immediately, a member of the 802 family. I finished that first trial class and for a few minutes my friend and I weren’t friends anymore but once I caught my breath I knew I was here to stay. I started Foundations the following week and nearly 2 years later I still get excited when I’m able to increase reps, lift heavier, cut time off a workout or successfully complete a movement I used to have to scale. The best part… every time I hit a milestone, the community celebrates with me! That’s why I stay. “
“I’ve been to other gyms but had no idea what to do. I felt intimidated and out of place. Never spoke to anyone and lacked any incentive to go. Monthly memberships would go unused. So at the age of 56, I tried CrossFit and now I’m easily in the best shape of my life.
But more importantly, I joined a community, gained many friends, supporters, and knowledge. I now go in every day and can’t wait to see what’s next. Each workout is a group effort. It’s hard, fun, challenging and rewarding all rolled into one. I wish I had done this sooner, but better late than never.”
