CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program. It was developed to enhance an individuals competency at all physical tasks. We focus on cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. CrossFit works with what we call ‘functional movements’, or movements we experience in our everyday lives. We target these movements in shorter, high-intensity cardiovascular sessions, eliciting a radically more effective training program and producing nearly any desired fitness result.
Is CrossFit For Me?
Absolutely! Prize fighters, cyclists, triathletes and others are using CrossFit to advance their core strength and conditioning, but that’s not all. CrossFit has tested its methods on the sedentary, overweight, pathological and elderly and found they were all met with the same success. Your needs and the Olympic athletes needs differ by degree, not kind. Increased power, strength, cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, flexibility, stamina, coordination, agility and balance are each important to the world’s best athletes as well as their grandparents.

Joining 802CrossFit is one of the best things I could've done to improve my running. After 9 months of training with Tarken, I've improved my Half Marathon time by 14 minutes going from a 1:52 to a 1:38! Not enough can be said of the benefits of strength, conditioning, and nutrition tips I've gained from Tarken at 802CF!!
I'm feeling pretty pleased tonight. I won my first 3.5 tennis match! This represents an improvement in my tennis, but it is also the first match I've won since my car accident. I wanted to thank you for helping me with one-on-one training which led me to stick around for Crossfit. You are such a good coach, but also a really good listener. This is just what I needed during that really tough time, of trying to climb off the couch and get back to an active life. I love coming to 802 and love the supportive community you and Sara have created. Thanks for doing what you do!
You guys have done an amazing job with the space and the creation of a great, supportive culture. There aren't cliques of people like you see in some gyms and everybody truly supports each other. A wonderful, friendly environment. Hats off to you Tarken and Sara!
Dear my favorite business owners and biggest supporters, I tried leaving 802 crossfit for a month because I needed to save money. I thought I could find something comparable, less expensive, and way more convenient in St. Albans. I was so wrong. Nothing compares to the serious yet fun and addicting atmosphere that you provide. I started tutoring instead. You helped me so much after my knee surgery in April. I'm back on skis and I know that a huge reason for that is because of the strength I've regained in my leg. I'll always be thankful for the push you gave me and continue to give. I hope you guys realize how important you are to so many people who love what you do for us. Thank you!
