CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program. It was developed to enhance an individuals competency at all physical tasks. We focus on cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. This philosophy works with what we call ‘functional movements’, or movements we experience in our everyday lives. We target these movements in shorter, high-intensity cardiovascular sessions, eliciting a radically more effective training program and producing nearly any desired fitness result.
Is CrossFit For Me?
Absolutely! Prize fighters, cyclists, triathletes and others are using these methods to advance their core strength and conditioning, but that’s not all. CrossFit has tested its methods on the sedentary, overweight, pathological and elderly and found they were all met with the same success. Your needs and the Olympic athletes needs differ by degree, not kind. Increased power, strength, cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, flexibility, stamina, coordination, agility and balance are each important to the world’s best athletes as well as their grandparents. At 802 CrossFit, we strive to provide quality fitness coaching and training to everyone. Our members include all types of people, from professional athletes to first-time exercisers and even those with injuries.
I was already in great shape before I started 802 (ran the spartan beast multiple times/worked out 5-6. days a week). I wasn't sure if I would feel/see the same results that others had with crossfit. Boy was I wrong! 802 has taken my fitness to a whole other level! My races in 2015 were my best yet, finishing in the very top of my age group. Looking forward to many years of continued success at 802!
802 Crossfit is more than a gym.....it is a family. You will not find a more supportive community! My husband and I enjoy the challenging classes while my kids participate in CrossFit kids. I LOVE this gym!!!!
A big thank you to Tarken & the 802 crew for having me as a guest today! I've coached at several affiliates over the past four years and have visited a handful in other states/countries. Y'all have a great facility, inspired coaching, and a top-notch family of athletes. It was a pleasure and I hope to see y'all again in the future.
The sense of community at 802 is paramount! All the members are friendly and welcoming and have grown to be friends. The coaches are top-notch, care about you as a person, and are vested in your growth and health. I've found 802 to place a heavy-emphasis on correct movement patterns and form, ensuring your safety, versus placing emphasis on competitiveness.
I'm feeling pretty pleased tonight. I won my first 3.5 tennis match! This represents an improvement in my tennis, but it is also the first match I've won since my car accident. I wanted to thank you for helping me with one-on-one training which led me to stick around for Crossfit. You are such a good coach, but also a really good listener. This is just what I needed during that really tough time, of trying to climb off the couch and get back to an active life. I love coming to 802 and love the supportive community you and Sara have created. Thanks for doing what you do!
I have always been an active person but 802 CrossFit has helped me take it to the next level. The environment there is so welcoming and fun - I actually look forward to classes and working out! Love the focus on technique and safety - I have learned a ton!
Any Crossfit affiliate is only as good as it's coaches. 802CF owners and coaches are exceptional! Programming is challenging, but scalable; always a focus on form and safety.
