Progressing the Kip
Have you got down those jumping pull-ups and are looking for a way to build strength in the Kip? Here is a great progression to help understand the movement. Make sure you have STRICT pull-ups before adding momentum. Kipping IS NOT a substitute for lack of strength. We often see athletes learn kipping when they havent developed the foundational strict strength. Over time, this can be detrimental to their progress & cause injury.Once strength is acquired we can work technique.I have them build off of each step.If there is a flaw in the step- they dont move on until its mastered. :1 arch to hollow lat pull down1 arch to hollow pulldown into pull-upMissing the lat pull downEnding in arch at top of pullupthis makes sequencing next rep very difficult bc you need to go in sequential order of arch-hollow-back into arch etc.https://www.instagram.com/p/B8hZ1iNA8a8/
